The Milan Center for Food Law and Policy organizes a conference on issues relating to food fraud, protection of workers’ rights in the agroindustrial production chain and consumer confidence in collaboration with Bureau Veritas Italia.
Consumer awareness has increased considerably in recent years as have their expectations for quality and sustainability of products. Consumers are more informed and are documenting themselves, they are willing to be loyal, not only because of a consolidated relationship, but increasingly more because of the transparency with which companies are prepared to explain their supply chain and the measures they take to prevent any possible form of exploitation, fraud or other violations. Monitoring working conditions in the supply chain and preventing fraud will become decisive strategies to ensure continued consumer confidence.
During the afternoon session best practices on certifications, new methodologies of social audits, policies and reasearch projects will be outlined with the active participation of experts and university lecturers.
