SDG11: Organic Cities Network Europe. Promoting sustainability through new urban food policies – 3rd of June 2019
Representatives of the Organic Cities Network Europe met in Milan. Urban food policies of Nuremberg, Vienna and Paris toward 2030 objectives were compared. More than 50 percent of the modern population currently lives in urban areas. Estimates show that by 2050 this percentage is expected to increase to almost 70 percent. In the light of such expectations, informed urban food policies and leading role of large municipalities, whose choices significantly determine agricultural models and contribute to the spread of sustainable food supply chains, are of the utmost importance.
